In a few days John David Tupper and Javier Flores will go on a photographic excursion we have done numerous times over the past twenty years. This pilot program of having photo enthusiast come along for a trip is being offered for up to ten people. Both Javier and John David are working professionals that have sold travel and landscape images from these trips and thought it would be fun to have a small group join them.
The trip will focus on the Eastern Sierras Fall changing of the leaves and photograph some of California's most photographically rich areas. While we may elect to change some details based on weather, the plan is to photograph famous Yosemite Valley, mysterious Mono Lake and it strange tufa towers, the ghost town of Bodie and down to the wondrous landscape of the Alabama Hills near The Mount Whitney Portal. Along the way we will capture the Aspens and the dramatic change of the leaves during the fall season that the Eastern Sierras have become notorious about. Places along the way you may elect to see and photograph are the Ancient Bristlecone Forest, The petroglyphs around Bishop or the area around Mammoth Mountain.
We seem to be at the right places at the right time and we thought other photographers might want to join us. While we have never offered this in the past, we aim to please and will be more than willing to share anything and everything about the area, photography or the business of photography that we know. Including the best places to eat, and photograph. And share the many possibilities of interpreting the images from black and white to HDR, from film to digital, from travel to lifestyle, from landscape to movement. Feel free to bring some samples of your work as we would love to see them.
